5 Must Have Ingredients To Protect Skin For Fall & Winter

Fall & winter can play havoc with many skin types, especially those with sensitized and dehydrated skin. To keep skin in balance and functioning in a healthy way, we've put together a list of 5 "must have" skin care ingredients to keep your skin healthy, happy and hydrated. By incorporating these ingredients into your regular skin care program, you'll have gorgeous skin regardless of the season!

Jojoba Oil

Derived from the seeds/nuts of the Jojoba plant, Jojoba oil closely resembles our own natural sebum. By helping to regulate our skins own oil production, Jojoba oil helps minimize over production of sebum to eliminate oily prone skin. Jojoba oil improves the skins barrier function to maintain beneficial hydration and protect from bacteria and environmental stress.

Hyaluronic Acid

A natural component of our own skin and connective tissues, hyaluronic acid has an unsurpassed ability to hold and retain moisture. One gram of hyaluronic acid can hold up to 6 litres of water, so when you introduce this molecule into your skin care, you can expect some serious skin hydration. Softer, smoother & plumper looking skin with a reduction in oxidative stress.

Squalane

In order to have happy skin, it's important to maintain the skins barrier function. Squalane is a natural component of skin which we derive from olives. This "hero" ingredient not only provides an anti-oxidant benefit to reduce the damage of free radicals, but also helps stressed skin feel better and maintain a healthy moisture balance.

Alpha Lipoic Acid

A powerful anti-oxidant with the ability to regenerate other anti-oxidants such as Vitamin C & E, and aids in skin repair. Alpha Lipoic Acid reduces inflammation caused by free radicals and environmental stress. Effective at blocking elastase which can break down the elastin that creates collagen and skin firmness.

Avocado Oil

High in anti-oxidants such as Vitamin E, Avocado oil is a better choice than coconut oil as it goes deeper into the skin and hydrates more effectively. Avocado oil also contains compounds  that help heal and repair damaged skin.
